| | | Martine, Philippe and their 2 sons, Adrien and Thibaut, have been breeding Arabian thoroughbreds in their Gémozac farm near Saintes (Charente-Maritime, France) since 1985. Their first encounter with Arabians at breeder Jean Deleaus farm marked a watershed in their professional life : They decided there and then to try and develop a unique genetic pool from three taproot mares imported from Syria at the end of the nineteenth century by the Algerian Horse Farms for the Tiaret producing mare farm. | | | | | The three taproot mares are : - CHERIFA, Bay, born in 1869, Chouimi-Sébayé lineage WADHA, Bay, born in 1874 , Jelfetale el Dehoua lineage BRAHMIE, grey, born in 1891, Saklaoui-Djedran lineage. The descendants of these 3 mares were carefully selected according to their oriental type in keeping with the standards. Up until 1945, they were sired by studs directly imported from Syria, thus constituting a precious oriental genetic pool. Dispersed all over the world, these mares initiated new stocks now found in the best racing and endurance families in the USA, Poland, Russia, North Africa and France. The best known breeder of these lines was indubitably Admiral Cordonnier whose breeding farm Sidi Bou Hadid near Bizerte in Tunisia saw the birth of studs such as Illamane (David x Berriane) and other studs later imported in France: Iricho (David x Chanaan), Inch Allah (Madani x Gafsa) and Irmak (Aïssaoui x Leila). | | | | | | | | | | OUR GOALS | | | | | Our first goal was to gather Irmaks daughters of thoroughbred descent. Thus, we acquired Bismilah (Irmak x Belle de jour Wadha lineage), Belkis (Irmak x Belle de Jour Wadha lineage), Jaffia (Irmak x Nadia Cherifa lineage) and Ibiska (Irmak x Saloua Wadha lineage). These mares were later joined by Qhéjalah (Fawzan x Jelala II Cherifa lineage) et Jlila Bint Jazour (Jazour x Guetlato Brahmie lineage). Our second goal was to make sure these exceptional mares would be sired by the stud that best represented this origin : Ourki. This superb grey stud, a perfect representative of the standards of his race, was fathered by Ourour (Duc x Imama), born in Tunisia at Cordonniers farm in 1947 and later imported in France. His mother was Ourhéa (Ghalbane x Fanrazia), born in Tiaret. She was one of the last daughters of Galbane, born in the East and imported from Syria in 1945 for the Algerian Horse Farms. | | | | | | | | | | | QUALITY IS OUR PRIORITY | | | | | Thanks to these strict breeding guidelines, our Blanc Marine Farm is now endowed with quality young mares. They are: Qhadidja (Ourki x Qhéjalah Cherifa lineage) grey; Qhomet (Ourki x Qhéjalah Cherifa lineage) grey ; Jazoura (Ourki x Jaffia Cherifa lineage) chestnut ; Baraka (Ourki x Bismilah Wadha lineage) grey ; BOureah (Ourki x Bismilah Wadha lineage) bay ; Ibizza (Ourki x Ibiska Wadha lineage) chestnut grey. On these foundation mares, we practice two types of crossbreeding : In-cross breeding in order to preserve the thoroughbred qualities. The stallions selected for in-cross breeding have a record in endurance racing or come from a lineage well known in this discipline, such as Murad Ghazi (Jahir x Murad Hadra), Khélif (Nichem x Kerouiya), Rubis de la Mouline (Illamane x Hamma) ; Out-cross breeding in order to produce top endurance horses. Some of the past selected stallions include Finift des Meures (El Borr x Partjanya) ou Persicko (Persik x Alreda). Buying a colt in this family means insurance on the origins, the standards and the temperament. Buying a filly means insurance on the future since you will acquire a sturdy and well-balanced horse that will perform well in all disciplines (endurance racing, flat racing or pleasure riding).
